EPILEPSY

Epilepsy occurs in one person among 150 people worldwide. 70% of such patients respond to drug treatment. The remaining number of patients cannot be cured with drugs. The only option for them is surgery. Usually people who get two to three seizures per month even after taking multiple antiepileptic drugs are potential patients for surgery treatment.

Previously surgery was considered unsafe. So patients did not opt for operations. Nowadays, thanks to the advance taking place in the medical field, surgical treatment has become a safe option.

Panic attacks can occur in some - at anytime, anywhere, any place. Epilepsy poses a huge economic challenge too for the family - the cost of treatment, arrangements for commuting etc.

Society does not understand the trauma caused by epilepsy, and the different kinds of seizures. Society stigmatizes the sufferers. But with minor adjustments, they can be excellent professionals.
